FINANCIAL AUTONOMY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN OGUN STATE, NIGERIA: A STAKEHOLDER’S PERSPECTIVE

The issue of financial autonomy has always generated a lot interest amongst stakeholders and it continues to do so. However, opinions on the association between rural development are diverse. Hence, this study is fixated investigating perspectives regarding nexus Financial Autonomy Rural Development inselected local governments in Ogun State. adopted cross-sectional survey research design method. Data were obtained through administration 400 copies 5-point Likert scale questionnaire three-selected councils State, Nigeria. Descriptive statistics as well Kruskal-Wallis H test analytical techniques adopted. reveals consensus different occupation/workgroups, i.e. that accelerates State Local Governments. result suggests will be better positioned contribute national economy if their resources managed with little or no interference from state government. paper recommends enactment legislation give generate manage without undue meddling by other tiers government, hence, engender service delivery development.
